Looks like I'm a digital packrat of some sort! There are reasons behind it and it's well explained.
I've been listening to these radio channels the past few weeks. It's quirky, it's weird, it's wild. I definitely recommend them to get out of your usual music bubble.
Interesting, with the price hikes and bundles to come, we might indeed see a resurgence in physical media. It will stay niche for sure, but looks like demand is about to grow.
The streaming trap is getting obvious at this point.
Unsurprising trend... this was a market where there was no chance to have a single dominant platform due to the existing studio behemoths. So now we're in the streaming wars, people can't afford to pay for every silos... and they turn to piracy again. Could have been all avoided if we went the "global license" route instead of dumping money on platforms.
If you only stream it, it won't be available forever. Keep this in mind when it's something you find culturally relevant... it might require some conservation work.
Looks like nice projects. After all these years I'm still amazed at what people manage to achieve in their spare time when they get together to solve a problem.
