Another type of devices where clearly they could be repairable and batteries could be swappable if manufacturers would put care in the design. At least, Fairphone is showing it's doable.
Looks like Valve is delivering on its promise to do further iterations on their hardware. Looks like they paid further attention to repairability which is very welcome. It'll put KDE products in an even better light now. 😉
What are the hardware improvements good for if then it's all locked down through software? This is wasted.
Some progress, still a long way to go.
Good news for the right to repair movement. I wish they would stop DRM'ing equipments like this...
Good explanation of how repair turned into an art in Japan. It also shows that imperfections can bring values to an object and are part of its history. It makes each object unique.
Now this looks like an interesting move. Let's see if that delivers.
Now that looks like a very interesting modular laptop. I'd be interested to test it and would love to see some KDE stuff installed on it by default. ;-)
Important advocacy, the right to repair has to become huge in the coming years.
EN: One more article on the preposterous vendor lock-in we experience with some devices (and yes, nowadays a tractor is yet another device with embedded code). Or why right to repair becomes an important freedom to defend.
