Honestly, it took much longer than I expected. Now you know that GitHub has really become a conduit for Microsoft's AI initiatives.
Such a nice and responsible citizen... FOSS is about extraction for them, not giving back.
Are we surprised? Not really... This kind of struggle was an obvious outcome from the heavy dependencies between both companies.
The writing was on the wall. This is an unsurprising development but Edge users should know where it's going...
This is indeed telling unfortunately. It's kind of ironic that they felt the need of having their own debloat scripts.
They're trying a come back... of course they added layers of security to pretend it's all solved and shiny. They totally ignore the social implications or if something like this even needs to be done. At least one can remove it... for now...
A deep dive into the events which led to the SolarWinds breaches. The responsibility from Microsoft as an organization is staggering. Their handling of security matters massively failed once more. I don't get how governmental agencies or other companies can still turn to Microsoft with sensitive data.
Very unsurprising, the harm is probably done though. They'll have to work hard for their reputation to recover (even though it was probably low already).
Unsurprisingly they had to adjust under the pressure. The most blatant issues might be gone, it is still a bad idea at its core.
We're still fairly dependent on just two major web indices... time for an index built as a common for everyone to use?
This is completely nuts... they really want to unleash a security and privacy nightmare. The irony is that it does respect DRM content on the other hand, we can see where the priorities are.
Not unexpected of course, but at least it makes it clear that Microsoft is actively trying to prevent users from using the browser they want.
If they really commit to it, this means Microsoft will really invest big in Rust. Let's wait and see...
Nice call from Mozilla to make this public. This way it is very obvious where the blockers are on some platforms.
Looks like Microsoft is really catching up fast for its surveillance apparatus to be on par with Google and Meta.
They respect privacy apparently... oh wait!
Really a bad summer for Microsoft security wise. Trust should be low among Azure customers now. Who was paying attention though?
Totally missed this over the summer... this is a huge breach. It will have a long lasting impact. The scope might be larger than we expect.
Another system where it becomes easier to make drivers in Rust.
Microsoft doing Microsoft things in Windows... unsurprising, will never end. Maybe at some point people will move to platforms they really have control on?
