The contrary is indeed claimed too often. This is far from a simple protocol, and that's probably to be expected seeing its history and success.
This is a lovely idea I think. Good way to pay homage to lost ones.
A good tour of the important HTTP headers.
The picture is a bit to bleak I think, but there's indeed currently a divide in terms of HTTP/3 adoption. This is fairly aligned with the big players vs long tail creators divide. Hopefully this will get solved at some point.
We're indeed close to universal HTTPS adoption. One last push please?
This is definitely an overlooked alternative to websockets. It doesn't apply everywhere of course but when it does it's a good pick.
Clearly there's a silent transition going on. It's not necessarily bad that it's on-going without making too much noise.
Interesting status report about HTTP/3 support in curl. Shows quite well the various alternatives and how special HTTP/3 can be.
Good reminder that firewalls need to be adjusted for proper HTTP/3 support.
Nice trick to get the pressure off the team while it looks for a proper solution.
Nothing groundbreaking if you already know about the topic. But very nice introductory resource for people who wish to learn about it. Nicely put together.
Interesting exploration of the performance for web resources when they're bundled or not. Also dabbles in the reasons behind the exhibited performances, definitely to keep in mind.
Interesting deep dive into the latest massive DDoS attack seen in the wild.
A bit basic and obvious, still a good list of things to keep in mind when designing REST APIs.
Looks like an interesting alternative to things like postman or insomnia. To test when I get the chance.
Looks like a very nice alternative to ngrok. It's free, doesn't require any particular command to download, just works through SSH.
It's unclear what really drove the adoption this far. Still, it's clearly the default option in many cases.
Interesting list of advises. Most of it makes sense, I'm less convinced about avoiding the headers for the authentication mechanism though.
Interesting list. Definitely to keep in mind when developing and deploying a web application.
Interesting article. This is a good introduction to the ActivityPub protocol. It also gives nice flies and pointers on how to dive deeper.
