This is definitely a disturbing result. It indeed makes democracies more fragile, all the more reason to build more democratic resilience.
It won't disappear that easily... Clearly the most radical supporters and architects of the Chat Control proposal won't let go. They don't want to respect people privacy and freedoms. Keep fighting!
I didn't know the voting rolls were public record in the US... this is a really bad idea.
This is just insane, claiming two opposite things to different demographic groups for political gains. And if you try to stop this kind of manipulative stunts they'd probably cry wolf about free speech...
Very nice piece. Hopefully it'll push people to remember that the big social media enclosures are not really the Web. We can have more democracy on the Web again if we collectively want to.
