I wish more product companies would pick this license. Going for AGPL with a support and/or double license offering is a strong model in my opinion.
It's a piece which really resonates with me. I've been thinking and saying for a while that focusing mostly on the technical (licensing and dev) aspects of Open Source was a mistake. This completely overlooked the political side of the Free Software equation. This is why the industry is as it is now. We need stronger commons and indeed the AGPL is best for that.
This is indeed a problem. Somehow it became much harder to attract younger developers.
This is ignoring the energy consumption aspect. That said, it is spot on regarding the social and economics aspects of those transformer models. They have to be open and self hostable.
Very interesting piece... shows how someone can end up maintaining something essential for decades. This is a lesson for us all.
The more releases out there the more vulnerabilities are (and could be) discovered. Some actions are necessary to get things under control properly.
Not necessarily my favorite governance model, but if you're on that scheme... those are good guiding principles.
The often forgotten history behind the creation of Git. This article does a good job summarizing it.

Another great resource for nice models and textures for your 3D needs.
Well done LibreOffice! I'd love to see many more announcements like this one.
Definitely a good idea, we'd need several such institutes across the world. Would governments be willing to try this?
You think the xz vulnerability was a one time event? Think again, this kind of bullying with ulterior motives happen regularly to critical projects.
Excellent post showing unhealthy consumer/maintainer dynamics in FOSS projects. This particular example was instrumental in getting the xz backdoor in place.
Indeed, time to leave Redis behind in favor of Redict. It's not like one can expect new things to come out to such a project.
This is a big and relevant release for open and freely accessible culture.
Another nice review for Plasma 6. Looks like it's getting mostly very positive reviews. So glad!
This is a nice ruling about GPL violation in France. Gives some more weight to the GPL.
The HDMI Forum is really an annoying body to say the least... they lack so much transparency.
A nice little review of our latest major releases. Looks like it's well accepted so far. Very glad!
